But lately, it seems that local needs have taken a back seat to global agendas, and municipal decisions have left too many residents feeling unheard and over-taxed.

It’s time to restore common sense leadership that puts Beaumont families first, preserves what makes us unique, and stewards your tax dollars with transparency and care. If elected, I will serve with humility & honesty and prioritize what matters most to you — because the future of Beaumont belongs in the hands of those who call it home.

Lisa (Dewar) Vanderkwaak

brings a strong blend of leadership, lived experience, and strategic thinking to her candidacy for Mayor. Since moving to Beaumont in 2005, she has raised her three children here and experienced first hand the strength of community — especially when she became a young widow and single mom in 2007. With no prior experience, she launched her own online business and has now spent over 18 years as a successful entrepreneur, including previously owning a storefront. Lisa later remarried , and she and her husband, David, enjoy exploring Beaumont’s walking trails and supporting local businesses.

Lisa holds a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and a Diploma in Christian Studies, She is an Executive Speaker Coach and Growth Strategist, known for her strong problem-solving skills and ability to help organizations thrive. Her deep community roots include serving as former President of the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, former columnist in Beaumont News, and investing years as a hockey mom, soccer coach and mentoring women leaders around the world.

With her proven leadership, strategic mindset, and business acumen, Lisa is ready to be a strong voice at City Hall and bring people-first, proactive leadership to Beaumont.
